He added that there had been a significant increase in passenger numbers ahead of the long holiday period. The peak flow of homecoming travelers from Jakarta is predicted to occur on Saturday (12/20) today.

The surge in passengers on Saturday is estimated to reach around 5,000 people per day, an increase of nearly 100 percent. The projected peak return flow to Jakarta is expected to be January 4, 2026.

The Jakarta Provincial Government prioritizes passenger safety and security during travel. Therefore, the Transportation Agency has implemented several preventive measures.

This includes a health check for bus drivers. All drivers, both primary and secondary, are required to undergo a comprehensive health check, including blood and urine tests to ensure they are free from drug use or any potentially dangerous medical conditions.

The agency also conducted vehicle ramp checks from November 19 to January 5 at major terminals.

"Hopefully, the implementation of the holiday by bus from Jakarta to any area will run smoothly, there will be no traffic jams, and the travelers can enjoy their trip," he added.

The Governor ensured that supporting facilities such as the canteen, toilets, children's playroom, and reading room at Pulo Gebang Terminal are ready to use and comfortable for passengers.

"And specifically, as Governor of Jakarta, Jakarta welcomes anyone who wishes to visit. Don't just go home to your hometown; hopefully, your hometown will also be in Jakarta," he stated.

Meanwhile, Head of Transportation Agency, Syafrin Liputo explained four main terminals serve passengers during the Christmas and New Year holidays. Those are Pulo Gebang, Kampung Rambutan, Kalideres, and Tanjung Priok.

"We also prepare additional terminals namely Muara Angke, Grogol, and Lebak Bulus to anticipate passenger surge," he explained.
